The American Institute of Taxidermy is located in beautiful Northern Wisconsin where you can enjoy excellent fishing and hunting while learning taxidermy.

Our school's outstanding teaching record will enable you to pursue a full-time or part-time professional career in taxidermy.

The school's objective is to prepare the student for a productive taxidermy career. We are committed to giving hands-on training and personal attention so that each student will acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to become a qualified taxidermist.

The taxidermy courses involve the actual mounting of fish, gamehead, small mammals and birds. These courses will include related information such as detailed mounting instructions, game laws, shop equipment and layout, management, advertising, display techniques, customer relations, and practical business ethics.

Completion of the taxidermy course(s) will give the student the opportunity to set up his/her own business; or job opportunities can be found working for a game preserve, guiding service, museum, other taxidermist, and a sport shop. Also, upon completion of the taxidermy course(s), the student will be awarded a Certificate.

American Institute of Taxidermy is approved by the State of Wisconsin, Educational Approval Board. The school's curriculum, catalog and all materials are reviewed and approved by this agency. The school is also bonded.

OWNER - SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR - INSTRUCTOR

Dennis D. Rinehart, owner, school administrator, instructor, taxidermy studio owner and a professional taxidermist for over thirty years has experience in all aspects of taxidermy.

Dennis has completed over 35,000 mounts during his career as a professional taxidermist. Mounts were done for sportsmen, museums and schools. Also, mounts done under his instruction have been entered in competition by American Institute of Taxidermy students which won numerous awards. He has been featured in sport magazines and on television and has given numerous talks and demonstrations for Ducks Unlimited, Trouts Unlimited, Whitetail Unlimited and other organizations.

Previously, Dennis was a lead instructor at The American Institute of Taxidermy, Inc. when the school was located in Janesville, Wisconsin. Also, he instructed when the school used the facilities at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, Wisconsin as a teaching location.
